Former PGSS Teacher Gets 9 months On Child Porn

Prince George- A Former PGSS teacher has been sentenced to 9 months in jail, 3 years probation, ordered to provide a DNA sample, placed on the sex offender registry, barred from being employed with people under 16 and ordered not to come in contact with anyone under the age of 16 on the Internet.
61 year old Michael Gardiner was arrested and charged in March of 2008 following an investigation involving the Prince George Serious Crimes Section and the Toronto Police Sex Crimes Unit.
He Pleaded guilty in court today in Prince George to the charges to possession of and distribution of Child Pornography.
Gardiner was immediately dismissed from his position with PGSS and has not taught since.
