* Resurface intermittent sections of Highway 16 at Hungry Hill and 6 Mile Hill near Burns Lake.
* Extend the eastbound climbing lane on Highway 16 at Holy Cross Hill near  Fraser Lake by 1.6 km

If the intersection at Domano cost about $8,000,000 ; then $5.9 mil will not go too far on 3 projects.
Resuface "intermittent sections".
The entire stretch from PG to Prince Rupert is one big patch job.
There are patches on the patches!
Another second rate job for northern and central B.C.!
The Domano project was expensive because it involved adding signals and rearranging lanes. Resurfacing and that sort of thing is a lot less expensive.
6-mile hill should be removed completely. In a loaded truck its a 2nd gear climb at about 3km per hour on dry pavement... on snow and ice with all chains on its sometimes not doable at all. All those wood chips west of Burns Lake have to make that climb if they are to ship there wood chips to a pulp mill once Eurocan mill closes... 6-mile hill is the one big massive choke point in the whole operation loaded heading East. The hill is just too long and too steep for a major highway. Either they need to cut out of the side of the hill to remove some of the grade to the hill or divert the whole highway around that hill, as it is not necessary in the first place.

The viability of the forest industry west of Burns lake is dependent on this IMO for the winter months at least.
When I read the heading I was so hoping that they might be 4 laneing that hwy 16 west at parkridge heights at least to Vanderhoof...but i guess it is just going to be some sad patching...
