November Mild and Normal

Prince George, B.C.- November  2009 was not your typical November as temperatures for the most part, remained slightly above normal for almost the entire month. That's the bottom line from  the monthly weather report from Environment Canada meteorologist Jim Steele.   Here  is his full  report:
 
The highlight would have been on the 5th when afternoon temperatures soared to the mid teens, a 14.7 degree reading breaking the daily record. A few brief ventures into the colder side of things occurred however nothing too drastic with the coldest temperatures for the month only at minus 10 on the 14th.
On the precipitation side of things, pretty close to a normal November with the 15th and 16th standing out as the really wet ones, managing almost half the monthly total on the 2 days.
Into the record books, November 2009 will show a mild month with normal precipitation.
 
 
Temperatures
  • Average daily high of 3.4 was above the normal of 0.6 degrees C.
  • Average daily low of -4.1 was above the normal of -6.3 degrees C. 
  • Mean temperature of -0.4 was above the normal -2.9 degrees C.
  • Warmest Day on the 5th with a maximum temperature of 14.7 degrees
  • Coldest day on the 14th with an overnight minimum of -10.4 degrees

 

Precipitation
  • Total precipitation of 52.6 mm was near the normal of 51.5 mm.  
  • Measurable precipitation on 16 days near the normal of 15 days
  • Greatest precipitation one day 18.3 mm on the 16th
