Prince George, BC – Operation Red Nose is in full swing in Prince George having provided 190 rides to party goers in the first 4 weekends of operations.

That’s an increase of 60 to 70%  in rides this year compared to previous years.

Last weekend there were eleven teams working in the Prince George area, driving people and their vehicles home until 3 a.m.

Although   they have 137 volunteers, there is a need for about 43 more for New Year’s Eve.
Anyone able to help must first pass a criminal record check, those forms are available at the Community Policing Office on Brunswick Street, or by calling the volunteer co-ordinator, Heather at 250-963-0279.

You can pre-plan  a ride by calling  1-877-604-NOSE

Hmmm, cause this is a great cause no one speaks? All people do is bitch about money, crime, jobs. I love how no one can think of anything clever to say here. Well to all the operation red nose volunteers, thank you. You do make a difference.
Its a sad day indeed when we need volunteers to drive party goers home.

Another way to describe it would be the responsible looking after the irresponsible.
Get a grip. Blogs are for bitching. But good for Operation Red Nose a great service. Does that make you two happier.
Acrider54. Why dont you set up a volunteer group to clean windows for peeping toms.

Just so you guys know...
Operation Red Nose is a fundraising event for Rotary. It provides much needed funding for various projects in our community that benefit youth and seniors.
Rides are by donation. Operation Red Nose is a valuable service because it takes hundreds of drivers off the road each holiday season who have no business driving under the influence of alcohol. It prevents accidents, injuries and saves lives. And the money raised through Operation Red Nose directly goes into helping citizens of Prince George.
This is a win-win situation.
