Olympic Torch Party in P.G. To Feature Local Entertainers and Fireworks

Prince George,B.C.- The Committee that's been planning the Olympic Torch event for January 29th in Prince George says it will be a two hour celebration that will showcase local talent, local athletes, local dignitaries and special guests.
In addition to the live entertainment plan, other activities include: free public skating for the entire family with skate rentals at no charge, fireworks, and the lighting of the cauldron by the official community torch bearer – Alix Wells.
Promotions of the event have begun and will be stepped up leading up to the event. Up to date event information is available on the City’s website and an official Facebook page. Mr. PG, located at Highway 16 and 97 will also take part in the promotion of the event by wearing red mittens, a scarf and holding a torch.
It is expected that the official route for Prince George for the torch bearers will be announced approximately one to two weeks prior to the arrival of the torch in Prince George. The City has received $40 thousand dollars from the Province for this torch party.
