Good work NHA, Thanks for the stabbing.

I can not see why so many people chose not too.
They have many reasons, most relating to paranoia of some sort.
Funny how advertisement on getting the shot have tripled since the scare is winding down. I can just imagine the BILLIONS made from this flu strain scare.
Its rather strange that H1N1 first showed up in North America in April 2009 however at that time there was no vaccine for it.

It was some months later that the vaccine started to come available for those **at risk groups** however it was still months later that even that group was able to get the vaccine.

So in essence we supposedly had this killer virus around from April 2009 to November 2009 before some people were even able to get the vaccine.

So the question is, how come we arent all dead??? Why were so few healthy people actually killed by this virus.????

I would suggest that if the Government didnt find it necessary for you to have the vaccine for 8 months then the pandemic was a hell of a lot less severe than they would have you beleive.

This whole H1N1 thing has been a huge fiasco. Those who took the vaccine are no better off than those who didnt.

Paranoia has nothing to do with it. If it did, it would be the schizophrenics who lined up for the vaccine who were paranoid, not those who didnt.
PS: Schizophrenics should have read hypochondriacs. If anyone cares. (I doubt that they do)
"Those who took the vaccine are no better off than those who didnt."

Really? Are you a doctor? What is this statement based on?
My neighbor had two shots and one week later he had the full blown version which lasted for a week - - He wasn't really happy!

You don't have to be a doctor to read and understand a data sheet. 10,000 people in Canada had the flu. Just like every year before the shots.
MrPG He wrote in plain view what he was basing it on. Read!!
The funny thing about flu vaccines is that everyone has an anecdotal story about how it 'didn't work' for this person or that person and so therefore the shot must be a total farce. Faulty logic.

It's harder to tell when it works. I get the shot every year and I don't get the flu. Can I then assume the vaccine works? How many more people fit into my category?
What happens to the 60% of shots that were not used? From what I have read so far approximately only 40% of Canadians chose to have the shot. The tax payers bought enough for everyone in Canada. From a tax payers point of view would it not have been proper to ask Canadians if they wanted it before they ordered so much? Are these unused shots going to deteriorate and be a huge waste of our money?

MrPG....I would think that it would be dependant on the person and their immunity and health at the time of the inoculation.
I for one have never had a shot for any kind of flu. The last two years I have not even gotten a cold. I therefor trust my immunity. Some people need the shot while others do not. It is a hard choice but thank God it is our choice. :}
There would likely be a huge cost in asking Canadians individually if they wanted the shot. And what if a bunch of people changed their minds? The government couldn't win. Their only choice was to get enough for everyone rather than try to figure out how many people were going to get the shot.

Don't get me wrong, my immune system is good. I get the seasonal flu shot so that there's a better chance that I don't accidentally pass something onto someone whose immune system is not so good (the elderly or the very young) even though I may be asymptomatic. I figure it's a small price to pay.
