New Westminster- A traffic stop resulted in a more than a traffic violation for police this week in New West minster. A 28 year old man, Matin Pouyan, while not believed to be associated with any particular gang, but never the less considered a significant player, being picked up with restricted weapons.

Pouyan was in the process of leaving a gym in Vancouver when he was stopped, a subsequent search found a semi automatic hand gun, and an assault rifle.

Pouyan was already on a firearm prohibition order for three previous convictions.

Not really local news, and not overly surprising.

The justice system is hardly going to do anything to stop repeat offenders; if they did then they would be out of a job!

I would say he can expect a slap on the wrist, and be driving around with illegal firearms again early in the New Year.
Anyone want to have a debate as to why the gun registry was the stupidest idea the Liberals ever had? What's even worse is they convinced a certain segment of society that the registry would actually protect them.
The relevance to PG is that don't be surprised to know that the local gangbangers are doing the same thing.
its a complete violation of his human rights.
take him behind the barn... obviously he does not want to function in our society so treat him like a stupid animal. kaboom
Wonder what our liberal judges will do to him, that should be a laugh.
"its a complete violation of his human rights."

greatmysticbushape your comment is idiotic. The individual is "on a firearm prohibition order for three previous convictions." If you have evidence on what those human rights violations are please share.

Those who are prohibited from possessing firearms have no "rights" when it comes to firearm possession. People who abuse/misuse firearms have no business possessing firearms.
