Tow  truck operator  preps  vehicle to be pulled  back up to Foothills Boulevard
Prince George, B.C. - The Prince George snow removal crews have been out clearing the roads, but   many remain very slick.
A driver lost control while heading northbound on Foothills Boulevard early this afternoon, and ended up going over the bank on the west side of the road, rolling the vehicle, until it came to a stop (upright) at the bottom of the bank.
No one hurt, but police remind drivers to reduce their speed to adjust for road conditions.

S-L-O-W D-O-W-N....get it??
City crews are working this weekend? Where?
You beat me to it MeBubba. This city has some terrible snow removal.
So tell me, where exactly have those crews been working? Nothing on Saturday or Sunday as far as I can tell. No bus routes, no main arterials ...... nada!!!!

Time to take Council and the City Manager to task!!! This is not providing "good government" as they are required to do under the Community Charter.
In town yesterday, the roads are a joke, Snow piled up in the cetner of Ferry, Westwood, you name it and all very icy no gravel or sand around. They are trying to re-coup the one million overpent from last year.
What I do is go take my re-cycling to the 22nd st. transfer station and drive by the city yards to see the plows and trucks just sitting there. There has been minimal effort in snow clearing and the practice of just piling it into the parking area of the lane or the middle of the lanes sure indicates that we don't actually need such wide roads around PG and wasting money on asphalt if for 6 months of the year they are just covered in snow piles.
Just because there is no sand or salt on the roads does not remove your responsibility to drive according to conditions.

Keep safe people.
Just because people are responsible under the law to drive according to road conditions does not remove the City's duty and responsibility for good governance and road maintenance.

Under the Community Charter, the City's purposes are:

(a) providing for GOOD government of its community,

(b) providing for SERVICES, laws and other matters for community benefit,

(c) providing for STEWARDSHIP OF THE PUBLIC ASSETS of its community, and

(d) fostering the economic, social and environmental well-being of its community.

Ditto Ispys comment. Too many people are still driving TOO fast for the road conditions. Some of them will hit the ditch, if the rest of us are lucky, and maybe that will jar their tiny brains into the realization that they need to slow down. Hopefully they don't take out someone else who is on the road when they lose control.
metalman.
Keep in mind that the slower you drive, the longer you are on the road.

The longer you are on the road, the more likely it is that you will be in an car accident.
