Prince George, B.C. – Initiatives Prince George has been granted its two requests of Prince George City Council.
IPG first asked that the City deliver one half of its annual funding for Tourism Prince George. That half funding amount is $163,500 thousand dollars.
The reason for the early request is that the balance of the funding will come from the Hotel room tax, but that will only be delivered quarterly. That would leave the newly formed Prince George Tourism Society with no cash to start its marketing program for the City until early April.
IPG also asked that it be allowed to provide interest only payments for the mortgage payments on the building at 2nd and George Streets from October of 2009 through to July of 2010. Terasen Gas is expected to close the deal to buy the former ACS building in July. Terasen will develop the building for it's new customer support centre.
