Soda Creek B.C. - Another lumber company has announced extended downtimes. Tolko has announced the extension of curtailments at its Armstrong and Soda Creek studmill divisions because of poor market conditions.
The two-week holiday curtailments that started December 19 and were previously extended by another week, have now been extended by a minimum of an additional two weeks at both operations pending market and cost improvements.
These curtailments will remove the equivalent of 390 million board feet on an annualized basis.
Approximately 315 employees are affected by these curtailments.
Yesterday Canfor announced the temporary closure of it's Quesnel sawmill, a move that will impact 180 people.
