Prince George, B.C.- The RCMP are planning a second, more intensive search of the NT Air hangar debris.
The first search, which followed shortly after the December 19th fire which levelled the building at the Prince George Airport, produced no results. Investigators are still looking for anything that would prove 55 year old Vernon Martin was in the building at the time of the blaze. Police still have Martin on their “missing” list.
The second search will be thorough and when it is complete, police say they will be able to say conclusively, that there are, or are not, human remains on the site.
Investigators are waiting for a seasonal change in weather before launching what they say will be an extremely intensive search. The unseasonably warm weather currently being experienced in the region is not expected to last long enough for the time needed to conduct the second search which may take weeks to complete.
The fire investigators have completed their probe of the fire, and say they will officially list the cause as “undetermined”.
