Northern Health and the Quesnel Regency Millionaires team up to promote "Hockey Yes,
Tobacco No"

Tobacco use is the number one cause of preventable disease, disability and death in
Canada.

The Quesnel Regency Millionaires and Northern Health have teamed up again for the
"Hockey Yes, Tobacco No" campaign, to raise awareness of the benefits of tobacco
free sports and to influence youth behaviour through positive role models

"Athletes are role models to young British Columbians in their community, and
through the Hockey Yes, Tobacco No program, hockey players from the Quesnel Regency
Millionaires are leading by example to promote the importance of living a
tobacco-free lifestyle," said Ida Chong, Minister of Healthy Living and Sport.

"We are proud to partner with Northern Health on this important issue," said Al
Manderson, Millionaires Marketing Director. "Tobacco and Hockey don't mix".

Tobacco use, including spit tobacco, hinders athletic performance of young athletes
by contributing to fatigue and muscle weakness. Being tobacco free gives Quesnel
Millionaires players, like #27 Eliot Raibl and #16 Trever Hertz, the edge over their
opponents

The "Hockey Yes, Tobacco No" campaign is intended:

*   To discourage use of tobacco in youth
*   To raise awareness of health risks from tobacco use
*   To share information about Quitting for those interested
*   To showcase positive & "cool" role models for youth
