Figures! Anyone that looks after the people’s interests are being let go. Welcome to the governments version of democracy.

I say this was engineered by the Premier, to cause a great slowdown in the flow of requests under the freedom of information act. This would be to frustrate anyone who is trying to dig up information that would embarrass the government in the eyes of the world during the Owelympics.
Otherwise, they would have had someone ready to appoint as the 'new' commissioner when the current fellow decided to or was directed to, take on another position within the government.

Even when people do put in a freedom of information request the government sometimes does everything it can to block them.

There was a story in the Vancouver Sun a while back about how the government is appealing it to the BC Supreme Court to avoid giving the details of the contract they signed with the IT support for the public service.

They need to cut the political crap and do the job they were elected to do.

Oh well it will be an election year in a few years, and then things will start to get done for the people once again.
