For those  who may have  misplaced a copy the first time we published this,  here  is the Olympic Torch Relay route  for   this afternoon.
Prince George, B.C.- Premier Gordon Campbell will be among those taking part in the Olympic Torch celebrations at Exhibition Park this evening.
The Torch Relay will start at Van Bien School at 5:06 p.m. and make it’s way through the City winding up at Exhibition Park at about 6:00 p.m.
While the torch will pass through many hands on its journey through the City, it will be student Alexis Wells who will have the last leg of that relay and will light the Olympic cauldron at Exhibition Park.
Those who plan to attend the relay are asked to the stand on the right hand side of the road in the direction of the relay’s travel. Parking at Exhibition Park will be limited so   attendees are being asked to either   car pool, or take Prince George transit shuttle busses from either the Pine Centre Mall or   Spruceland Mall. A shuttle bus will be available every 15 minutes.
The celebration will include a multicultural stage show and fireworks from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m..
On Saturday morning, former Mayor Colin Kinsley will lead off the relay through the UNBC grounds.   He will   take the torch on the first leg of that relay from the Northern Sports Centre at 7:30 in the morning.

I'm so excited that Gordo will be here! I better get right down there and see if I can get an autograph YEEHAW
I cant stand to look at this man. Always smilling as he sticks it to us.
maybe a protest would help? probably not....but it sure wouldn't hurt my feelings if he stayed home and buried himself in his favorite bottle.
Maybe some of you should run for premier. I bet you would do a wonderful job .
People in politics have changed. You now have to be the lowest form of crook who cares nothing about the people. You need to kiss the butts of those in big business. Run for priemier...I think not!
I could run, I could learn to lie, fill my pockets with your money, travel the world on your nickel and pay off all my friends.
Tough job, that of the politician. Few express any fondness for them once they have been in 'power' for a while.
Even Obama is failing on the popularity front. I would not want the job. I know darn well that I could not do any better.
metalman.
Agreed metalman. It's much easier to criticise than it is to do.
Anyone who wishes to enter political life needs to understand something...
Those now in power control who gets in and when, regardless of party preferences.
If you are not one of the chosen few and haven't kissed the right butts...forget it.
Having the desire to do something good for your fellow man has nothing to do with it anymore,if in fact it ever did.
Nobody gets in to politics and nobody gets out with their reputations intact, without the hogs at the deep end of the public trough giving their blessings.
How else would we explain a government like the Campbell clan holding on to power?
Governments just recycle the inner circle of loyalists through various ministries, but notice that there is rarely ever anyone new?
All parties do that.... it's called "control".
How else would we explain the likes of Gordon Campbell himself?
Politics is an extremely lucrative profession, complete with long-term perks, before and after political life.
Those who are lucky enough to get in the door don't last for long,if they don't play by the rules devised by politicians themselves, to benefit other politicians.
The amazing thing is that there are still people out there who think otherwise.
I'll run, no party, as independant...lets see if the Criminal one can fire me for speaking out against his, what appears to me to be gangster actitiies!
Hope criminal Campbell and his 30 body guards have a bad day.
Andy, too bad that most of what you are saying is true!

Look how Mulroney escaped from his controversy with his head held higher than before!

Who paid the millions for that circus show?

They all stick together and so should we, the *Voting Cattle* - perhaps one day we will wake up!
Amen to that diplomat!
My girls really want to go see the torch. They only mentioned the torch. They don't care about anything else and I'm not about to fill their heads with all the adult garbage that goes along with the torch. I plan to keep my thoughts to myself and let my girls just see the torch. Maybe say something nice about the athletes(who I support through all the garbage)and go home. Oh to be a kid again!

...and yes to this diplomat "They all stick together and so should we, the *Voting Cattle* - perhaps one day we will wake up!"
How many teachers are posting here ???
So I was curious and asked my daughters why they wanted to go see the torch. (6 and 12 yrs. old)
They said, "Because!"
I said, "What does the torch mean?"
6 yr. old says, "Olympic torch."
I said, "What does the Olympics mean to you?"
12 yr. old "Phooey, I just want to see the torch." giggle, giggle.
6 yr. old, "I just want to see the torch."

I wonder how many kids think "Phooey"?
It's sad how things got to Phooey.
sorry that should read Literature
I just want to know how many carbon credits we have to buy to fly Cambell over for these indiviual parties. Anyone know?
The Torch relay is NOT part of the ancient Greek Games..No siree Bob..The very first torch relay was in 1936 at the Aldolph Hitler Berlin Olympic games...

Don`t shoot the messenger, this is true history..
Hitler used the torch relay in many ways..

Whoever didn`t show up to rah rah the torch relay(without medical reasons) in 1936 was either questioned or rounded up as possible threats to Hitler`s horrific world domination agenda.

History friends.

Cheers

Well, I am not going to say anything in favour of Hitler, of course. However, having seen numerous newsreels about the Berlin Olympics I suspect that the ordinary cheering folks were not Nostradamuses and really didn't know what was going to happen in the next few years.

What also amazed me to see all the dignitaries from all around the world in attendance and cheering and applauding wildly and having a wonderful time!

Perhaps if all the kings, queens, prime ministers and presidents and their entourages would have boycotted the man and the Games instead of fawning over him the ordinary folks would have gotten a message that the whole world apparently knew and that they didn't know.

Hindsight is always 20/20 perfect.
bcracer, I ll run as an independant as well cause we all know party politics is party dictatorship, get enough independants we can contol and change the laws to better suit what the people want.
I find it amazing that the group of complainers around here are the highest tax paying members of society. You can tell from the venom they spew that they are in the highest tax bracket for sure, all their hard earned tax dollars being wasted left and right by the evil Liberal named Gordon.

They slave and they toil and their hard work builds and pays for EVERYTHING. Never do they collect a GST cheque, E.I, Family Allowance, Welfare, Child Care Payment etc.

I am puzzled because the media always says these are Gordon's people.....this is who elected him for the third time. Who is wrong?
Does anyone know if Gordon will be travelling all over the province helping the flame burn.
