Serious crash on Highway  97 north of Clinton leaves two    people injured
Clinton, B.C.-  To look at the pictures, it would be hard to believe anyone could come out of this crash alive, but they did.
The Ford SUV and Chevy 4x4 pickup extended cab collided earlier today on Highway 97, about 20 km north of Clinton.
The occupants of the vehicles were trapped, and it took some time to remove then from their vehicles. A helicopter was brought in to medi-vac one patient to hospital, a second person was taken by ambulance.
The highway was closed for a time to allow the helicopter to land.
The highways are a mess says RCMP Sergeant Pat McTiernan. “The milder temperatures today caused a melt, then  the cooler air moved in and the roads froze and now there’s snow. West of the City of Prince George, the highway is like glass, and Williams Lake detachment is reporting numerous crashes along highway 97. No serious injuries, but the roads are treacherous right now.”
He advises that if you must drive, “Take your time, there is no point in being in a hurry, better to take   it slow and arrive alive.”

gotta get to the rodeo !
Worst road trip I ever took was a winter departure from Hwy 16 near Bednesti heading for Vancouver and the road was exactly like Constable McTiernan described it: glass ...

only it looked more like porcelain to me -- white, solid, shiny.

Brakes useless. Steering almost useless. I'm pretty sure it was only the ruts in the pavement that kept me (driving Volvo) on the road ... but then heck, I couldn't even stop!

There were cars and trucks parked bumper to bumper along Hwy 16 Westbound.

Jeez, what a nightmare.

Sensible people stay home beside a roaring fire with an extra cup of coffee on those mornings. I hope everybody stayed safe this time around.
No snow down here in Vancouver! Green all around.
Ospika was closed around 9:30pm between Ferry and Pinewood. Wonder what happened there?
The highway from Loon Lake turn off to 100 Mile House is always crappy in the winter.
" No snow down here in Vancouver! Green all around. "

Good don't leave. It's to populated up here.
