Chinese New Year Celebrated in P.G.

A  traditional Chinese Lion Dance was performed at Exploration Place   last night as part of the Chinese New Year  celebration.
Prince George, B.C.- Fireworks , fine dining, and lion fun were on the agenda at Exploration Place in Prince George last night as the museum celebrated the Chinese New Year with a special event.
The Chinese New Year gala event  had skill testing games in the galleries of the Exporation place  and a traditional Chinese Lion Dance before dinner.
The fundraising event wrapped up with a fireworks display. (photo  at right)
All proceeds from the event   go towards children's programming at the Museum.
The first day of the Chinese New Year is actually February 14th  this year.
2010  is the  year of the Tiger,( formally known  as Geng  Yin)  and marks  the start  of   year  4707 on the Chinese Calendar.

I thought the fireworks were awesome. The kids doing the Lion Dances were very entertaining.
