Whistler B.C.-   The BC Coroners Service, assisted by the RCMP, is on site at

Whistler Sliding Center conducting an investigation into the cause of the fatality
that took place on the luge track this morning.

The track remains closed while both agencies conduct a thorough
investigation to determine the cause of this tragedy. It is unknown at
this time how long the run will be shut down.

This is a tragic situation and our thoughts are with the athlete's family
and friends and the entire Olympic family.

Sad to see it happen, but olympic guys handled it very well. Sad to see anything like that to happen

Really did not care for CTV to show the whole tape. Just not right.
CTV disgusts me for showing that as there is no need. Have a little respect for him and his family.
I could not believe that CTV showed the actual accident footage. I was sick to my stomach after seeing that. That was a totally thoughtless and irresponsible act as far as I'm concerned. Its hard enough to know that a family has tragically lost a loved one and friends have lost a comrade, but to show them all how he actually died is appalling!! Shame on you all! My heart goes out to the family and friends of this young man...I am so sorry for your loss.

I think the CTV coverage is severely lacking in general!
And Lisa LaFlame and her buddy talk way too much about things they know nothing about!
CBC did a much better job!
