There were many activities to participate in at the Walmart Kids' Fun Fair

Prince George, B.C. - It was a whirlwind of a day, and there were no doubt some tired children after yesterday's Kids Fun Fair at the Connaught Youth Centre.

The family event is a highlight of the city's annual Snow Daze Winter Festival and Executive Director, Marion Axelson, says she's certain this year's turn-out surpassed the numbers through the door in 2009.

Axelson says, in addition to being a lot of fun, the event is extremely affordable for families, with parents and tots being able to spend several hours working their way through the games stations for 50-cents a turn.

She credits volunteers with making the day a success.  There were a total of 62 local teens on-hand to run the booths and make sure everyone had their turn. (At left, Jared Avery gets his chance to sink a putt)

"Cindy Smith from College Heights Secondary organized 50 students, from different schools, so they would receive their necessary school credits."

"And then there are 12 members First South Fort George Girl Guides here, as well."

At right, Tanner Gagnon stopped by the BC Hydro 'Team Power Smart' Display to visit with mom, Charlea, who spent the day talking to the young participants at the fair about energy conservation and hydro safety.

Snow Daze events continue through to February 21st, click here for the full schedule.
