Alberta Man Killed in Weekend Avalanche

Revelstoke, B.C. -  RCMP are just releasing details of an avalanche that claimed the life of an Alberta man yesterday afternoon on Eagle Mountain, near Revelstoke.

Police say the man had been sledding with a group of 7 others in the Eagle Pass area, when the snow let go and he was buried.

Corporal Rod Wiebe says that by the time his friends were able to locate the man and dig him out, he had succumbed to his injuries.

The 42-year-old victim was from Hussar, Alberta.

Police and the Coroners Service are investigating.
