Touchdown Delayed

Prince George, B.C. - With aircraft afficionados already lining Boeing Road out at the Prince George Airport, came word that the Russian aircraft set to touch down at YXS has been delayed...

An airport official says no reason has been given for the IL 76's tardy landing -- it was supposed to arrive at 1:45pm this afternoon. The landing has now been pushed back to 3:15pm.

The Russian passenger/cargo plane will spend the next five days parked at the airport, awaiting Olympic traffic to clear out of the Lower Mainland, before flying into Vancouver to pick up its payload and move on.
