YXS will provide 'parking spot' for this Russian IL76

Prince George, B.C. - The Russian Ilyushin 76 has landed...

It arrived at YXS an hour-and-a-half later than originally scheduled...touching down at around 3:15 this afternoon, instead of 1:45pm.  No word was given for the delay.

As reported earlier today, the IL 76 will be at the Prince George Airport until February 28th, when it will fly into Vancouver to pick up its cargo.

Limited parking capacity at airports in the Lower Mainland because of the Olympics, put Prince George on the 'radar'.

11 crew members arrived with the passenger/cargo plane that is compared size-wise to a Boeing 747.

Looks like its not that big of an aircraft from the road? Small but a lot of engine, so must carry heavy things I suppose.
Another olympic winner and so early in the year. One skater, one aircraft.
Cheers
I'm not sure how an IL76 can be compared to a 747. The specs are nowhere close!

IL76
Length: 46.59 m (152 ft 10 in)
Wingspan: 50.5 m (165 ft 8 in)

747
Length: 70.6 m (231 ft 10 in)
Wingspan: 59.6 m (195 ft 8 in)
