Prince George, B.C. -  More than one-thousand city residents have signed their names to a petition calling on the provincial government to fully fund public education...

The Chair of the SD57's District Parent Advisory Council says the petition began at the launch of the 60-day consultation process on school closures at Vanier Hall on January 26th.

Don Sabo says, "We're going to be submitting the petition on Friday, because we'd like it in before March 1st so that way the local ministers as well as the government has something else to think about (before handing down the provincial budget) as far as the number of unhappy parents that are within this school district that feel that education should be a priority."

Sabo is encouraging anyone still wanting to sign the petition to go to the group's website and print off a petition page, "and I'd encourage them to go around to other parents that they know or friends or the neighbourhood and get them to sign it, as well."

Not more funding!
We the taxpayers are tapped out!

TRIM THE FAT IN THE DISTRICT!
BECOME EFFICIENT!
Actually I like spending more than I make so I went to my bank today and asked them to double my line of credit because I really need a higher standard of living and I also need some free cash to pay the minimum payments on my other credit cards. They pointed out I've got more going out than coming in and when do I expect that to change? I told them probably never that's why I need more credit and I'll probably need to keep increasing the credit line until I die and then hopefully my kids can pay it off for me. This makes sense right? At least I thought it did but their laughter is still ringing in my ears. Go figure :)
Where's the petition that says that people should be having more kids? That's what ultimately keeps schools open.

Throwing more money into a system to keep half full schools open is not sustainable.
Let's have one of them reverse petitions for every petition that wants more money from us taxpayers. Or sumthin' like that. Any other burg in this province ever use a reverse petition?
