Hockey Gold Breaks Record

Vancouver, B.C. - The Canadian Women's Hockey team has given the country a record-setting 8th gold medal, with a 2-0 victory of the United States this evening.
The win is the women's 3rd consecutive gold at the Olympics and avenges losses to the United States at the past two World Championships.
The country's 8th gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver-Whistler Olympics beats earlier records of 7 set in 2002 in Salt Lake City, and matched at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin, Italy.
BC Premier Gordon Campbell, was seated next to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Wayne and Janet Gretzky at tonight's gold medal game.
The Premier says, "Achieving a record gold-medal count is another history-making accomplishment for an Olympics that has been marked by moments that
have lifted spirits and thrilled Canadians. All of our Team Canada athletes can take pride in this incredible achievement and for working hard to make these Games an event Canadians will remember for generations."
