Prince George, B.C. – This weekend marks the start of the  t.v. series “The Rookies” which follows 6 Cougars rookies through training camp, right up to the opening night of the season.
Some of the players that are followed through the training camp process include current Cougars defencemen Jesse Forsberg and Daniel Gibb and forward Brock Hirsche.
“It was really exciting for all of us in the Cougars organization to have “The Rookies” production crew follow our young players at training camp,” said Cougars Vice President Brandi Brodsky.  “We have already had a sneak peek at part of the show and it looks terrific.  We hope Cougars fans will enjoy this all access look at the club from the moment the players arrive at camp.”
Produced by Rat Films, the show will air on Rogers Sportsnet East at 5:30 PT today and will make its Rogers Sportsnet Pacific on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

Cool.
metalman.
IMO I don't think the term, "ready to air" and "Prince George" should be used in the same sentence. (cough, cough). But hey. That's me.
Finally a ray of light and hope for the Cougars. Maybe they will make the playoffs in 2012
playoffs 2012?
maybe.......
next year I am not so sure about...
Some of the players... and then you only name three? Who are the other three??

They played the commercial for this series on the scoreboard during intermission the other night. It looked like a great idea.

I am curious why Sportsnet picked the Cougars. They obviously did not think they were filming the worst team in the CHL at the time. I am interested to have a look back at the process of the training camp... to see what exactly did go on back at the start of the season.
Glad to see these kids got something positive out of their time in Prince George. I can't think of any franchise that is in worse shape than the Cougars, the Leafs included. The Cougars will get the top pick in the bantam draft but the top players will refuse to play here making it more of a top ten pick. I can't blame the players. Why would anyone want to play for this organization?
