The Canadian rink, coached by Joe Rea of Prince George and
skipped by Jim Armstrong of Victoria, won gold in wheelchair
curling at the Paralympic Games in Vancouver.
Canada built up an 8-1 lead and held on for an 8-7 victory over
South Korea in the final.
The Canadians, who finished first with a 7-2 record in round
robin play, doubled Sweden 10-5 in the semi-finals.
Vancouver resident Lauren Woolstencroft won the women's
standing class super combined to become the first Canadian
to ever win five gold medals in one winter Paralympic competition.
