Prince George, B.C.- The search resumes this hour at the site of the Northern Thunderbird Air hangar fire for the remains of Vernon Martin.
Officials had delayed the search as they needed a long stretch of stable warm weather to resume their work. While more favourable weather has been here for a while, there has also been an increased workload with a number of pressing cases which limited the number of people available to work the site.

RCMP search teams and heavy equipment are back on the site this morning to remove debris that had been frozen solid in the ice which built up during the fire fighting efforts.
The NT Air hangar went up in flames on December 19th of 2009. While it is thought Vernon Martin was in the building at the time, there has been no sign of human remains in the search of the site so far.

Can we say olympics.
or can we say double murder, sexual assault, knife attacks, grow ops, gang activities.

Not sure if many of you have noticed, there seems to be a marked increase in violent crime around here.
What do the olympics have to do with the rate that ice melts in Prince George?
boomer - clearly its all the hot air blown around by politicians proclaiming the vast benefits of the Olympics ;)
"What do the olympics have to do with the rate that ice melts in Prince George?"

Nothing. People just like to complain about the olympics.
Hey all you naysayers about our olympic. Just do us a favour Leave the Province. Go live somewhere else. I am tired of hearing all this whinning. The Olympics was the best thing that has happened to BC.

We invest in the Olympics we get dividends back. We invest in the social programs, we get nothing back. These are my tax dollars too.
Yup & they are my tax dollars too & I'd rather the money went to social programs, like health care, education, getting the homeless off the streets, etc, etc...the list is endless. I see a real return for these programs, way more than the Olympics.
Maybe the RCMP should be looking in Costa Rica?
