Funeral Today for Fallen P.G. Soldier

Prince George, B.C.- A full military funeral will be held this afternoon in Edmonton’s St. Joseph's Basilica for Corporal Darren Fitzpatrick.

The 21 year old native of Prince George died last weekend at the University of Alberta Hospital from wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was on patrol west of Kandahar.

The service today starts at 3:00.

Corporal Fitzpatrick will be interred at the Prince George Cemetery, Tuesday at 1:00.

Very touching to see Don Cherry pay tribute to Corporal Darren Fitzpatrick at last nights Montreal/New Jersey hockey game. Our prayers of comfort go out for his family and friends.
