They will be caught. But it is too bad they won't be punished.
They're both adult suspects so I expect more than just a slap on the wrist. Plus they are known to police, therefore a previous record is presumed.
Gang or drug related perhaps...

It seems odd that they are known to police and do not go to the school.
what a mess !!!!
Maybe they should be sending students (High School too) to the rural schools....who is going to stab them there? The only time they would skip would be to go....fishing (which isn't that bad because honestly....they are learning)? There would be no drug trades at least not with non students....sounding better all the time!
What is the difference between using a knife in a fight or a gun in a fight... both should receive mandatory harsh sentences for deterrent purposes IMO.
Every Repeat offender is proof that our justice system does not work.

In fact once they have been thru the justice system and served time, they are actually more likely to recommit, as they have realized just how much of a joke the system is.

Jail provides a much better standard of life, than a minimum wage job.
Sad, but true Vdesign, those behind bars actually have more rights that we who are free. By law, they have to be clothed, fed, and kept safe and warm.
metalman.
Known to police, and they are looking for them.

looks like a keystone cop show coming up.
Look at the picture. The kid that was stabbed had to be known to the stabbers. They all had to be involved with the drug trade. The stabbers did not just pick some innocent kid to attack. DP Todd school has had a very good reputation as far as schools go. To maintain their reputation, the police should make an example of this situation and make it known to all, that participation in drugs in all schools will suffer the same fate. Drugs in schools must be addressed. This cannot continue like an untreated disease. One has to also question how the tax payers money is being spent on policing and subsequent convoluted court system.
Cloret, do you know the victim? Was he buying drugs or helping friends that were being harassed by these drug dealers?
Cloret, The school district is not going to play that game, You have to remember the kids are sheltered and protect from the outside world until they graduate.

I do agree that, the use of drugs are rampant in our society, and kids are not immune to it. We rely on our school system too much. Parents need to only expect for the schools, to keep them in the front edge of technology. Teach them the Three R's. Teach them what being Canadian is about. Parents need to take on the role of being a role model. They need to teach the kids right from wrong. They need to teach them about the birds and the bees. They need to teach them about personal finances.
They need to teach them about responsibilities of a job. They need to teach them that the world can be a cruel place to live in, if you loose the structure.
You are correct (He spoke) It is the same in every generation. Respect is something you learn from your parents first and foremost! But at the end of the day it is the minority of bad apples giving the majority of good kids a bad wrap. D P Todd is an excellent school BTW
Real nice sentiments HS. I agree with you 100% that is the way it should be. Reality is the parents are just as human as anyone else, and humans are the laziest creatures to walk the earth.
Modern parenting tends to consist of keeping them breathing til school starts and hope the school teaches all life skills as well as all functional skills.

There is a wide divide between reality and supposed to be.
I consider myself to be an extremely successful parent as all three of mine are in university or just about to attend, do not do drugs (we talk and check), have a great circle of friends, and mostly balanced life. How that happened from my past and my spouses past, we are assuming that we capitalized on our experiences and were open with are children and expressed our regrets. They seemed to have listened well.
There should be a school liason section at the detachment where members would actually be assigned offices at the secondary schools in town.
