B.C. Hydro Work to Bring Outages Throughout P.G.
Prince George, B.C.- Today marks the start of some rolling hydro blackouts in Prince George. B.C. Hydro is starting a program that will replace some parts on hydro poles. The program will be complete in mid June but it means the power will have to be shut down in the area where the work is being conducted.
BC Hydro spokesperson, Bob Gammer, says residents can expect the power to be out for about an hour, and once the work has been done, the work crew will move to a new area. That one power outage will be all that any resident should experience during the course of this repair plan.
Gammer says residents will be notified of the planned outage by a visit from the work crew, or a message left on their door. As for businesses, work crews are expected to talk with them to arrange a time that would be the least disruptive to the business.
