Prince George, B.C.- The Fight HST campaign got off to a fast start with 1800 names collected on the petition in Ft. St. John on the first day the petition was available in that community.
Mike Summers, the regional campaign Captain says in the Prince George region there will be a meeting this Sunday at the Professional Building at 1705 Third Avenue.
“We are still waiting for the paperwork for a couple of the canvassers, but we could still use volunteers”.
Summers says they are holding off on their petition blitz in the three Prince George area ridings (Prince George-Mackenzie, Prince George- Valemount and Nechako Lakes) until Sunday when the petition papers and the identification tags for canvassers will be distributed to the canvassers.
“This is such a hated tax, we feel absolutely confident we will get the signatures we need, and we will” says Summers.
There are just over 50 volunteers who have signed up in the Prince George area. Summers says he could still   have some more sign up to help in the effort in Fort St. James, Fraser Lake and Huston.
The campaign needs to collect signatures of 10% of all those on the voters list from each of the ridings in the Province in order for it to be successful. The canvassers have until July 5th to collect all the signatures they need to force the Provincial legislature to either hold a referendum or reverse its decision on adopting the HST.
If the effort fails, there is expected to be a recall effort in the Premier’s home riding.

Where can we sign if the canvassers miss us at home?
Well its off to a good start in gordos riding. Aparently they got 10% signatures on the first day there. This petition is going to be easy to do. Just wait till we have to recall these crooks. If this petition is any indicator then looks like thats going to be easy too. In PG we must get rid of bell. He is NOT going to represent YOU like he swore to do. So lets get this started and get this done. If a few more of you would have gone out to vote in may we would not be doing this today. We will win this petition and after its over maybe it will be time to launch boycott of many of these corporations. Did you know that SHAW was blocking the emails of this fighthst team members? Read about that here:

Now we have china right here in PG. That is disgusting and I say boycott shaw.
Can't help but notice the mainstream media, particularly down south, keeps referring to this as the "Vanderzalm anti-HST rally" etc.
This not a Vanderzalm campain and it is not hard to see where mainstream media sympathy is going.
Like him or not,Vanderzalm was simply the guy who put it together and started it rolling.
In reality,we needed a key player to do that, and past party politics are not rellevant here.
This is an anti-HST campain by the taxpayers of B.C. and we would be wise to get on board before the train leaves the station.
We only get one good shot at it.

Just like former MLA Paul Ramsey said "We can read names on the petition too."Let's not forget that this will also apply to the currant regime as well.

I am curious ...who is paying for the admin time required in sorting out who is actually on the voters list? Time cost money.

I hope they come to my door, I support the HST. Tax me, I'm Canadian
Hmmm, I wonder if your on the list, and did not vote, your signature mean anything.

I think the signatures of people who are protesting should become public Knowledge.
My guess is that many people who are anti-HST aren't even registered to vote, won't know that and sign anyway... which is why the petition is targeting 15% in each riding, even though they only need 10%.
Recall Campbell initiative. Sweet. He didn't win his own riding by much of a margin.

Hello BC, we need a new, real Liberal party. These guys are jokers...
Oh yes let's go back to the loser government that we had. Now that makes alot of sense!!!!
The HST initiative is smoking hot!!!

Elections BC is swamped with requests and applications for canvassers..

"Hello BC, we need a new, real Liberal party"

I don't see NDP in the in the above statement

I think it says Liberal, what they need is a new leader.
opinionated, the previous Government where never this bad!
Fortunately for the NDP, people have really short memories.
which is better MR PG, a $500,000,000 roof for BC place, or our Lacking school programs!

Obviously no kids go to school in your household!
Let's get little Johnny and Mary working. It's time to bring back the workhouse.

Is this next!

Wrong. I have kids in school. I also am a realist and realize that you cannot keep half-empty schools open.

Once again hammmy, you've failed to realize that it's kids that we're lacking in this school district, and that means less money to run schools.
I said school programs!
Different than school closings.
