Prince George, B.C.- As Opinion 250 told you earlier this week, the former Pope and Talbot pulp mill in Mackenzie is under new ownership.

At a special announcement this morning,  the new owners  "Paper Excellence B-V"  of Europe (a subsidiary of Sinar Mas) were introduced.

 Earlier this week, Opinion 250 learned a deal had been signed with the union and the call back of workers would begin soon. 

Workers will have to assess each piece of equipment, a process that is expected to take a few months, before production will begin.   The Union expected call backs to begin soon, the exact start up  date is not  clear.

 Paper Excellence B-V  was recently in the news  as it  was poised to purchase two  pulp mills in France from Quebec based Tembec.  The purchase price on those two operations is said to be  $137 million dollars. in shares and  assumption of debt.
