Terrane Metals rep Darren O'Brien  addresses capacity crowd at Mineral's North Conference in Prince George

Prince George, BC.- Terrane Metals , the company behind the Mount  Milligan mine project 155 km northwest of Prince George,  expects to the mine's production  to pay for the construction of the mine within 4 years. If metal prices stay at current levels, that payback time could be cut in half.

Speaking to the Minerals North conference in Prince George, Terrane’s  Darren O’Brien says the company is currently working on solidifying contracts with suppliers and expects to start logging the area later this year with construction of a road . Next year the company will develop the power lines, the tailings pond and start construction of the processing plant.  O’Brien says the mine is expected to start production in early 2013.

Mt. Milligan is expected to have a life span of 22 years, but O’Brien says there is a strong possibility the mine life will  be extended.  He says more drilling will be done this summer in the area because new data suggests there may be another significant deposit on the site.

In addition to the construction jobs leading to the opening of the mine, the Mount Milligan project is expected to create 400 direct permanent jobs and significant long-term economic benefits for the region.

Where do I apply?
Of course the mine life will be longer, its taking forever to get off the ground.
now if they haul all the ore to my little Macktown then I can come back to BC for work :)
A person should take some time to look at Terrane and possibly buy stock while it is still around $1. IMHO
I beleive that the upgrade to the road between Mackenzie and Ft St James is because this ore will be hauled to Ft St James and then railed to the Pr Rupert Port, however I could be wrong.

The Kemess North Mine will probably close next year, which will mean lay offs, some of these people should be able to go to work for Mt Milligan. Who knows.
The ore will be going to fort st james.
Which is unfortunate...There is already an Ore processing facility in Mackenzie and the way the rail system is laid out it really isn't all that quicker to truck the ore to James....

Now if they were to truck the ore to Vanderhoof that might be worth looking into....
Having the ore goe to the fort was terranes commitment to fort st james. As well the road is alot better and safer on the fort side to handle 2 way traffic.
