Charred frame of greenhouse on right is all that remains, while firefighter talks with resident

Prince George B.C. – It took Prince George Firefighters only minutes to knock down a fire in a greenhouse behind a home on Ridgeview Drive this evening.

Crews responded to the call about the fire around 8:00 p.m. Neighbours say they heard a boom, then saw flames jump into the sky.

Seems the resident was using a heater in his greenhouse to keep the tomato plants warm.

First indications are that the heater exploded.

The  small greenhouse was destroyed….the tomatoes……cooked.

There was no one hurt, and no damage to the   residence or to neighbouring properties.
