Prince George is hosting  half a dozen reps from the film industry this weekend and through next week.

Some of the top Canadian film and television producers, production managers and location managers accepted an invitation from the Northern BC Film Commission to come to Prince George to see first hand the many diverse filming locations the area offers.

Northern BC Film Commissioner Karen Cameron has scheduled a number of activities for the group including a walking tour of UNBC, driving tour of Cranbrook Hill and catching a Cougars game on Sunday night. The group will also tour city neighbourhoods including the Millar Addition, and visit industrial sites like PG Pulp Mill and rural and natural areas like West Lake.

Cameron is excited about the  opportunity,  “It is their first visit here and we are pulling out all the stops to show them what Prince George has to offer the film industry.”

“We are fortunate in Prince George to have such diverse locations in such close proximity. “We can show a busy downtown area or corporate office type locations, and within a half hour, we can also show a rustic cabin on the shore of a quiet isolated lake. The variety of locations and the reputation this community has for ‘making it happen’, make Prince George very attractive to the film industry,” says Cameron.

Six Vancouver-based producers, production managers and location managers are participating in the tour, including: George Chapman (Unfinished Life, Agent Cody Banks), Lorne Davidson (Battlestar Galactica, The L Word), Victoria Frodsham (Sum of All Fears, Liberty Stands Still), Carolyn Bratkowski (a variety of television commercials), Rod Hardy (Alienated, Wickerman) and Carol Milne (a variety of television commercials).
