A large number of residents living in College Heights will be waking up to blinking VCR lights this morning, after a single vehicle accident on Domano Boulevard.

RCMP Staff-Sergeant Jeff McArthur says a pick-up truck lost control, near Gladstone Crescent, bringing down a power pole.

Staff-Sergeant McArthur says the crash brought down live wires for approximately 100-metres and the two occupants were forced to stay with the badly damaged truck while police and fire department officials set up a perimeter.  McArthur says BC Hydro officials arrived on the scene and assisted in getting the two people safely out of the area.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the mishap.

Approximately 2341 customers were impacted by the outage that occurred at just after 1:00am this morning.  Hydro had originally been estimating it would take until noon to restore service, but the lights went back on at 6:17am.
