Highway Upgrades Set to Begin

Prince George, B.C.- Work is about to begin on the resurfacing of three roads in the region.

A $5-million contract has been awarded to Okanagan Aggregates Ltd. of Armstrong to complete the approximately 36 km of paving by September, which will cover:

* Upper Fraser Road from the Highway 16 east intersection to the Willow River Bridge - 14 km.

* Giscome Road from the Prince George boundary to Highway 16 - 8.7 km.

* Kenny Dam Road from the pavement's start to the Vanderhoof boundary - 13 km.

The work is set to begin in June, involves no road closures and only minor traffic delays.

A new illuminated sign was erected on the Hart Highway yesterday, announcing road work from 5th avenue to North Kelly road.

that hart hwy needs alot of repairs and adjustments!!!!

Yeah, looks like they are going to widen the shoulders on Birchwood hill.
