Fatal Crash in Quesnel

Quesnel, B.C. - RCMP in Quesnel are releasing the name of  a woman killed in a crash  Thursday afternoon on Hwy 97 and Dragon Hill Rd.

Police say a  white Ford Probe had been traveling southbound on Hwy. 97 around 3:00 pm when a Toyota Tercel pulled out of Dragon Hill Rd in front of the Ford Probe.  The Ford Probe struck the driver's side of the Tercel, killing the lone female driver.  The male driver of the Ford was taken by EHS to GR Baker hospital with only minor injuries.

The Highway was closed in both directions for approximately two hours during one of the busiest days of the year.

The deceased elderly female has been identified as Annette Dorish of Quesnel BC.

Alcohol was not a factor in the collision.   The Cariboo Regional Traffic Services Unit is still investigating this collision and is asking for anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact the investigating member, Cst Ryan ARTHUR at 250-992-9211.

Sgt. Reinhold WEISSBOCK Area Commander would like to remind everyone that wearing seat belts do saves lives.  The young male driver sustained no serious injuries due to the fact he had been wearing his seat belt.

That is a bad intersection. When they four laned the road in the area they should have continued north to the existing four lane near the Sandman.
are you a little mixed up? it is four laned from the Quesnel River bridge up the hill and south to 500m south of the Sandman. the accident was a km north of the Sandman at Aroma Foods at the top of the hill - called by some the Dragon Lake Hill.
