Two Fires Minor Damage In Prince George Friday Night

Prince George- Two fires in the city overnight. The first fire occurred at a duplex in the 2000 block of Upland St.
The fire had started as a result of a hot pot on a stove. When fire crews arrived smoke was coming from the side of the duplex. The residents who were at home at the time of the blaze did not suffer any injuries. Damage is estimated at $50,000 dollars.
A fire on a second story balcony in the 1700 block of 6th Ave resulted in $5,000 dollars damage to the balcony. Firemen were called to the scene in that fire at 11.30pm. and were able to quickly extinguish the blaze after a fire alarm had alerted the residents and they were able leave the building.
