Fort St. John, B.C.- Fort St John is one of seven B.C. communities to have been named a “solar community” and to receive $5,000 in funding to go along with that title.

The funding will enable the communities to further develop solar hot water programs and other solar initiatives in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote clean energy and a sustainable energy future.

A solar hot water system can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by one to two tonnes per year for a single family home using natural gas for water heating. The increased use of solar energy technology is part of the Province’s plan to curb greenhouse gas emissions by 33 per cent by 2020.

wonder how much solar panels cost and if its worth the money in savings.
wow! now they can power there whole city
Once they have finished all of the presentations and what not, I wonder how many solar panels they'll be able to buy? Not many.
Now lets see, C02 makes up 3% of the atmosphere and mans contribution to that is 3%. This is a huge money making scam chasing Co2. Follow the money in Ft. St. John, should be interesting, I would like to know.
