Prince George, B.C.- It has been a little over a week since the body of 14 year old Kristen Nelson was discovered off Johnson Road.
Friends of Kristen’s, have organized a special day and have been spreading the word on a special page on Facebook.  The event calls for people to wear pink on June 2nd  “ For anybody that knew her, or think that she was way too young to pass away from all of us  on June 2  we ask anyone who knew her or even if you don’t, to wear pink, in memory of her, support the cause”

That special Facebook page has sparked numerous comments suggesting Kristen had been a victim of bullying but School District 57 Superintendent Brian Pepper says there has been no information passed to his office that would  support that allegation.

Pepper also says allegations on that Facebook page claiming the principal of the Prince George Secondary School where Kristen attended high school has told students not to take part in the “wear pink” event are untrue.

The Facebook event has already collected confirmation of participation from about 2,000 people.

Kristen went missing on May 18th from her family home; she was last seen alive walking along Johnson Rd at about 6:30pm on that date, members of her family say she was upset at the time.

I've washed a white t-shirt in with a bright red shirt just so I'd have something pink to wear tomorrow. 14 is just way too young.

I don't believe a word Brian Pepper has to say on this matter; I'm more inclined to believe the girl's peers.
Mr pepper was my kids principal at Glenview, and due to my boy behaving as a boy, we had several meetings.
I found Mr Pepper to be fair minded, open to options, and he cared for the students.

Since he has been superintendent, I have seen little chance in those attitudes.

So when it comes down to the word of an established professional educator that I know personally, against that of a bunch of mourning youth, I would go with the level head.
I agree with you Loki. I have had several meetings with Brian Pepper and he is an incredible person to talk to. He has one singular goal in his job, and that is kids. We need more people like him.

Wish I'd known earlier about wearing pink. 14 is too young for a person to die.
