Prince George- Prince George Cougars forward Brett Connolly will be among Ron MacLean and Don Cherry’s guests during Coach’s Corner on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada on Friday, June 4. The live interview will take place during the first intermission of Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Game time is 5:00pm Pacific Time.
Connolly, along with other top prospects Tyler Seguin, Taylor Hall, Erik Gudbranson and Cam Fowler, will be featured with MacLean and “Grapes” as they introduce Canadian hockey fans to the group of highly touted NHL prospects.
“I’m really looking forward to speaking with Ron and Don on Hockey Night in Canada,” said Connolly. “Just being at the Stanley Cup Finals will be a really neat experience for me.”
Connolly completed the NHL’s scouting combine in Toronto last week and goes into the 2010 NHL Entry Draft ranked third by NHL Central Scouting among North American draft eligible skaters. Connolly recorded 10 goals and 19 points in 16 games during the 2009-10 season for the Cougars and represented Canada at the World Under-18 Championship in Belarus in April. In 2008-09, Connolly set Cougars rookie records with 30 goals and 60 points and tied Nick Drazenovic’s rookie record with 30 assists. Connolly became the first Prince George Cougar to win WHL and CHL Rookie of the Year honors.
