Prince George, B.C.- The Prince George Chamber of Commerce has a new CEO.

Chamber President Roy Spooner has announced that Jennifer Brandle-McCall, MA, has been appointed to the position of CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce and will assume her duties effective June 14th, 2010.

Spooner, says the search for a new CEO was extensive “We are very happy to have found in Jennifer an outstanding person who will provide leadership to our Chamber of Commerce as we approach our Centennial year. Jennifer is a well qualified professional who will continue, and build on, the marvellous job done by retiring Executive Director Sherry Sethen”.

Ms Brandle-McCall has a Master’s Degree in Professional Communication as well as experience in supervising support staff in non-profit organizations and educational workplaces as well as business experience in media sales. “I can appreciate both the challenges and joys of managing and working in a team environment like the Prince George Chamber of Commerce” says Brandle-McCall.

She has been a Prince George resident for five years and is a native of Victoria, BC. “ I am deeply passionate about helping our City reach its fullest potential.  My various volunteer and employment commitments to the Hart Community Association, the Multicultural Services Society and the College of New Caledonia are a few of the indications of my personal dedication towards improving Prince George”.

Appointing a new CEO is the culmination of almost a year of Committee work since Sherry Sethen advised the Executive of her intent to retire this summer. “This notice is consistent with Sherry’s 17 year commitment to our Chamber says Spooner, “She has always demonstrated a deep sense of caring for our community and our Chamber and her planned exit is just another example of that attitude. She will be deeply missed, although I suspect she will only ever, be-- a phone call away”.

Where are the cries for the salary of this person to be published???
the cries would come from the members of the chamber of commerce would be my guess.
I don't quite understand her qualifications for the CEO position? Meh...who cares, just more bureaucracy.
