Enbridge Inc. says it  is receiving overwhelming support for a pipeline that would flow from Alberta to Kitimat.

The $4.1 billion dollar pipeline  project , better known as  the "Gateway Petroleum Export Pipeline"" would have  a dual line  carry  oil sands crude and condensate from Edmonton,  Alberta to a port in Kitimat for shipping to markets in Asia and the U.S.

About 800 people  attended the 17 public meetings that were  held in B.C. and Alberta.

Not yet approved, Enbridge is already  making some changes to the size of the pipeline.  The company says that while no binding contracts have been made, "We have had enough interest in the project to look at expanding the pipeline from 30 to 36 inches which would bring the line to a capacity of in excess of 400,000 barrels a day."

Enbridge says it is still planning  on having the project proposal go before the National Energy Board early this year.

Yes, I beleive the key words her are " markets in the US" Asia being an after thought. I find it hard to believe that a US company would be thinking about anyone but themselves first.
400,000 barrels a day to the US no doubt, while we pay outragious prices for a liter of fuel. That's free trade I guess. Give the US all of our natural resourses and pay top dollar to get the resourses back.
Just wait until our BC Liberal government sells off BCTC to the States. BCTC, most people remember used to be BC Hydro. Watch your Hydro rates go sky high.
Those gosh darm Yankees.
