Jay Lalibertee teaches  daughter Savannah  some  technique on  hooking a rainbow trout
Prince George, B.C.-  The fundraising campaign at Wood Wheaton’s World of Wheels has surpassed its goal.
Hoping to raise $5,000 for the Baldy Hughes Recovery Centre, the fundraiser was well over $4 thousand before noon today and there was still lots of time left.
The fish pond was a huge success says Wood Wheaton Manager Tom Sentes “I got here at 7 this morning and there were already people lined up to take a crack at it.”
For $2 dollars, you could buy ten minute to try and  hook one of the rainbow trout in the above ground pool.
Savannah Lalibertee and her dad Jay were pretty successful during their time, as 5 year old Savannah caught three rainbows. Fishing is nothing new to Savannah, she’s practically a pro “Last week I was in Prince Rupert and I caught a baby halibut and two rock fish” said the beaming 5 year old.
( at right, Savannah holds up her bag of three rainbows)
“The whole event has really gone well” says Sentes,   earlier this week there was a silent auction and people could buy a fishing rod with reel for a minimum 30 dollar donation to Baldy Hughes.
