Quesnel, B.C. A Williams Lake man has died as a result of injuries suffered in a single vehicle  crash just south of Quesnel on Canada Day.

RCMP say the man,   who was in his  50's,  was  the lone occupant  of a 2010 Chev pick up truck that was heading southbound on highway 97 around 6:30  pm on Canada Day.  The vehicle left  the road to the right, rolled and  trapped the driver inside.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.  His name has not yet been released.

Police say alcohol and speed  did not contribute to this crash, however, at this point it would appear the driver fell asleep behind the wheel.

The investigation is ongoing and police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this crash.
