Northern Health Chair Charles Jago and  Prince George Valemount MLA Shirley Bond, look on as  Minister of Forests and Range Pat Bell, and Mayor Dan Rogers  swing  the sledge hammers  at  Simon Fraser Lodge

Prince George, B.C.-  The sledge hammers were swinging yesterday  as the demolition of one section of  Simon Fraser Lodge got underway.

The demolition  will clear the way for a new two storey facility to be built.

The section  to be demolished has been  part of the community  for  nearly 50 years as it was originally built in  1964 for  war veterans.

That part of Simon Fraser is a piece of @$$# crap. Good to see it torn down. the residents were in jail there in rooms of 4 beds. Like a third world country living standards. Hope the new 2 story building is alot nore resident friendly.
Maybe Bond and Bell ought to just stay working there tearing the building down, they sure as hell don't work at their jobs they have now.
