Prince George, B.C.- On August 9th, folks in Prince George can ride the bus for free.
The City will lose $1200 in revenue that day, but it is all part of the effort to land the bid for the 2015 Winter Games.
The Bid Evaluation Committee will be in Prince George that day and to show community support for the bid, residents are being asked to take part in numerous events. As a proactive way to encourage greater attendance at events, reduce vehicle congestion, increase safety for pedestrians and reduce vehicle emissions, the City decided it would be a good idea to offer free transit on that day.
