Sam Moody, brother of murder victim Lavina Moody speaks at Unity Ride Wrap

Prince George, B.C. -  Sam Moody travelled from Williams Lake to take part in yesterday's culmination of the 'Sacred Sisters Unity Ride 2010' in Prince George...

He says he wanted to take part in the ceremony to wrap up the ride because he wanted to honour the many murdered and missing women throughout the region, including those along the 'Highway of Tears', Highway 16.  Moody believes, "When you do something sacred like this, information comes and there's an awareness that comes."

He says a medicine man once told him that every time there's something sacred, spirits come to help.  And that just may be the case for his family.

Moody's sister, Lavina, was murdered 41-years ago in Williams Lake.  Her killers have never been found.  He says his family suffered tremendously as a result...struggling with alcoholism for a number of years before healing and growing extremely close.  And, now, a glimmer of hope...

"Actually, this morning, my wife phoned me and an elder from one of the villages (near Williams Lake) came forward and told her -- gave her a name -- of a man that (he says) was involved with my sister's murder."
