UNBC Prof Elected To National Association

Prince George, B.C. -  A professor at the University of Northern B.C. has been elected President of the Canadian Botanical Association.
 
Dr. Hugues Massicotte says his two-year appointment is exciting for the recognition it brings both the university and northern B.C.. (photo at left provided by UNBC) 
 
Dr. Massicotte says, “Plants are critical for sustaining life on this planet and this region is home to some of the most passionate botanists in Canada. Our involvement gives us a stronger voice nationally.”
 
Massicotte is a forest biologist and professor in UNBC's Ecosystem Science and Management program.  He joins two other UNBC profs on the board of the Association: Ecosystem Science and Management Professor Jane Young serves as CBA Treasurer and ESM Professor Art Fredeen is its Western Director.
