Fire Rescue 'Lombardi command post' on trailer park lane
Prince George, B.C. - Quick action by Prince George Firefighters late this afternoon doused what could have easily become an out-of-control situation...
Prince George Fire Rescue Assistant Chief, John Heaslip, says crews from two halls were called out to deal with four fires -- two within and two just outside the Lombardy trailer park, along Norwood Street between Porter and Strathcona.
Heaslip says, "A chain of four fires in a row is obviously suspicious in nature." He says police have been called in to try and find the culprit or culprits responsible.
(The photo at left shows one of the fires set inside the trailer park still smoldering.)
The Assistant Fire Chief says it's just fortunate no one was injured. "There was no property damage. The guys did a really good job, very quick response."
One resident in the trailer park says flames from one of the fires were leaping as high as four-metres into the air.
